The Journey

Every seat in the system

Mr. Raj began in the classroom teaching GCE O-Level Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. He built his lessons around problem solving, discussion and critical thinking, helping students who feared mathematics learn to reason their way through it. Awarded a Ministry of Education postgraduate scholarship, he deepened his craft with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching while taking on his first leadership roles in school.

At the Ministry's Curriculum Planning and Development Division, he helped implement a revised national mathematics syllabus across Singapore, contributed to national textbooks, resource guides and instructional videos and provided structured coaching and mentoring to mathematics teachers and mentors across the system.

As Head of Department and later Vice-Principal, he led strategic planning, designed a forward-looking curriculum framework and embedded Lesson Study as a sustained way of professional learning. Across two decades he has taught students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 and led teachers in both primary and secondary schools in adopting 21st-century teaching practices. That range, from teaching the subject to shaping its national curriculum to running a school, is what he now brings to schools, ministries and publishers around the world through SG EduCierge, alongside his role as Head of Content at LearnPF, where he directs mathematics content for an online learning platform.
